Blood and biospecimens

Sourcing human blood and other biospecimens for research can be challenging, complex and time consuming.

Cambridge Bioscience supports researchers by providing a complete service for sourcing human blood and tissue samples for research. We work with a carefully selected group of specialist biospecimen providers, each of which meets our demanding standards for ethical sample collection capabilities, storage and shipping processes. Our meticulous approach ensures that we can deliver samples suitable for the most demanding research applications.

Our fresh human blood service is based on a partnership with London-based Research Donors. Through this close collaboration, we can provide fresh human blood and derivatives such as buffy coat, PBMCs, plasma and serum from healthy volunteer donors on a same or next day after collection (depending on location).

Other partners specialise in providing biospecimens from both healthy and diseased donors, with a focus on facilitating overnight delivery of "hard to obtain" human tissue and blood samples from a wide range of clinical conditions.

Collection suspended

Due to the current COVID-19 situation and the need to limit travel and non-essential contact, Research Donors have made the difficult decision to suspend all collections until further notice. Collections will resume as soon as it is safe to do so.
