Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) are a heterogenous mix of white blood cells each having a round nucleus. PBMCs are widely used in research and provide a useful tool for studying a broad range of immune responses in vitro.
Cambridge Bioscience has a close collaboration with Research Donors, a London-based clinic, dedicated to the collection and processing of human whole blood to PBMCs for research purposes. Research Donors is an HTA licenced, ISO 9001 2015 certified establishment with Research Ethics (REC) approval as a Research Tissue bank, as well as participating in the UK NEQAS QA scheme. PBMCs are processed within 5 hours of blood collection for minimal degradation and we are now able to offer HLA typing on request.
We also offer individual cryopreserved blood cells such as T-cells, dendritic cells and eosinophils.
Full resumption of service
Research Donors have fully resumed their blood collection service for all researchers. If you are experiencing blood sourcing challenges, please contact our blood specialists to discuss your requirements.
Donor COVID-19 testing now available
Research Donors are now able to offer optional donor COVID-19 qPCR testing to detect nucleic acids from SARS-CoV-2 and rapid qualitative immunoassay testing to detect SARS-CoV-2 IgM and IgG antibodies. Contact our blood specialists to find out more.
These products are for research use only and not for any diagnostic, therapeutic, human or animal use. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have necessary licensing and ethics approvals in place for the use and storage of any human tissue related material supplied by Cambridge Bioscience.
