Aromatic-L-amino-acid decarboxylase, DDC, AADC
DOPA Decarboxylase Antibody detects DOPA decarboxylase (aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase, AADC; DDC) which catalyzes the second reaction in the biosynthesis of catecholamines and serotonin. It is also involved in the biosynthesis of trace amines. DDC antibodies can therefore be used as markers for dopaminergic, noradrenergic and serotonergic neurons in a variety of applications including depression, schizophrenia, Parkinson’s disease and drug abuse. Anti-DOPA Decarboxylase Antibody is ideal for investigators involved in neurological disorders and, more generally in Neuroscience. Anti-DOPA Decarboxylase Antibody is tested for use in ELISA and Western Blotting. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a band of approximately 55 kDa in size corresponding to the DDC proteins in the appropriate cell lysate or extract.
