Acetyl tetrapeptide-15 is a neurotransmitter-inhibiting peptide and also a ยต-opioid receptor agonist. Acetyl tetrapeptide-15 reduces phosphorylation from adenylate cyclase (ADC) to protein kinase A (PKA), inhibits TRPV1 responses, and decreases neuronal excitability. Acetyl tetrapeptide-15 reduces the release of calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) in sensory neurons stimulated by capsaicin or depolarizing agents. Acetyl tetrapeptide-15 can be used in studies related to sensitive skin[1].
