Product Description:
A flavonoid with diverse biological activities; inhibits human 12-LO and 15-LO-1 (IC50s = 0.64 and 1.6 µM, respectively) but is less potent at 15-LO-1 when Triton-X is present (IC50 = 38 µM); inhibits lipid peroxidation (IC50 = 5 µM); inhibits growth of three human hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines (IC50s = 17-70 µg/ml); increases intracellular calcium concentration, ROS accumulation, caspase-9 and -3 activation, and induces apoptosis in ZR-75-1 human breast cancer cells; increases PPARβ/δ levels in microglia; decreases symptoms of EAE in mice at 75 mg/kg per day
