Galectin-3-binding protein is a protein that in humans is encoded by the LGALS3BP gene. The galectins are a family of beta-galactoside-binding proteins implicated in modulating cell–cell and cell–matrix interactions. Using fluorescence in–situ hybridization, the full length 90K cDNA has been localized to chromosome 17q25. The native protein binds specifically to a human macrophage-associated lectin known as Mac-2 and also binds to galectin 1. Useful in Sandwich ELISA for Quantitative Detection of Antigen. Aliquot 0.1ml per well of the 4000pg/ml, 2000pg/ml,1000pg/ml, 500pg/ml, 250pg/ml, 125pg/ml, 62.5pg/ml human Galectin-3BP standard solutions into the precoated 96-well plate. Add 0.1ml of the sample diluent buffer into the control well (Zero well) . Add 0.1ml of each properly diluted sample of human cell culture supernates, serum or plasma (heparin) to each empty well. It is recommended that each human Galectin-3BP standard solution and each sample be measured in duplicate.
