A potent and selective PDE2 inhibitor (IC50s = 2 and 4.7 nM for the bovine and human enzymes, respectively); 50-fold selective for PDE2 over PDE1 and >100-fold selective over PDE5 PDE3B, PDE4B, PDE7B, PDE8A, PDE9A, PDE10A, and PDE11A; antagonizes oxidative stress-induced anxiety-like behavioral effects in mice by increasing cGMP signaling at 3 mg/kg; improves the performance of rats in an object location task and enhances cAMP/cGMP-mediated object and spatial memory consolidation at 1 mg/kg
