A nondepolarizing neuromuscular blocking agent; an nAChR receptor antagonist; decreases acetylcholine release induced by carbamoylcholine in isolated cat superior cervical ganglion at 27.4 and 54.8 µg/ml; decreases mean arterial pressure in unanesthetized rats at 40 mg/kg; induces signs of nicotine abstinence in nicotine-dependent rats when administered at a dose of 18 ng, i.c.v.
