A mixture of soy phosphatidylserines; comprises 2-10% of total phospholipids in mammals and is enriched in the brain; found mainly on the inner leaflet of the cell membrane; synthesized in the ER and mitochondria; is a precursor to phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine; cofactor for various signaling pathways; externalized during apoptosis as a signal for phagocytes to engulf the cell
