A photosensitizer and degradant of chlorophyll a; induces cytotoxicity in SKOV3 and KB cells when combined with PDT (IC50s = 14.5 and 1.2 µM); inhibits replication of HSV-2 and influenza A virus in Vero and MDCK cells, respectively (IC50s = 0.016 and 0.33 µg/ml, respectively)
