A LeuRS inhibitor (IC50 = 0.31 µM for the E. coli enzyme); active against a variety of bacteria, including MDR clinical isolates (MICs = 2-8 µg/ml); inhibits protein, RNA, DNA, and fatty acid synthesis in E. coli (IC50s = 8.3, 105, 366, and 396 µg/ml, respectively); reduces the number of CFUs in neutropenic mouse thigh models of E. coli or P. aeruginosa infection at 30 mg/kg
