Firefly luciferase-IN-2 (compound 5j) serves as an inhibitor targeting the ATP-dependent luciferase, a key enzyme responsible for light emission in fireflies and kowtow bugs. This compound effectively inhibits P. pyralis luciferase with an IC 50 value of 0.15 µM. However, it demonstrates negligible inhibitory effects on R. reniformis luciferase.
