Cotoin, a natural product isolated from the stem bark of Garcinia virgate, exhibits antispasmodic activity by reducing the tone and contraction of isolated rabbit intestine. It partially inhibits the effects of acetylcholine, trichothecenes, and BaCl on the isolated intestine.
