Ethacridine (lactate)

An inducer of uterine contraction; induces contractions in primary mouse myometrium smooth muscle cells when co-cultured with primary degranulated mast cell and isolated and washed mouse uterine horns at 10 µM; preincubation of viral particles reduces SARS-CoV-2 viral titers in a plaque assay, as well as decreases the levels of intracellular and extracellular viral RNA and the intracellular levels of the N protein and S protein, in Vero E6 cells at 5 µM; decreases colony formation by, and induces apoptosis in, SW1736 and FTC-133 cancer cells at 10 µM; reduces the levels of mRNA encoding TTF-1, Pax8, and NIS in Nthy-ori 3-1 thyroid follicular epithelial cells at 10 µM
