A quinolizidine alkaloid; reduces viral titers in CVB3-infected primary neonatal rat cardiomyocytes at 1 and 5 µg/ml; inhibits the growth of, and induces apoptosis in, SW480 colorectal cancer cells, as well as reduces tumor growth in an SW480 mouse xenograft model; reduces increases in TNF-α, IL-8, and PGE2 levels in a mouse model of carrageenan-induced paw edema at 12.15 and 48.6 mg/kg
