A cephalosporin antibiotic; active against a variety of bacteria, including S. pyogenes, C. diphtheriae, E. coli, and H. influenzae (MICs = 31, 15.6, 125, and 31 µg/ml, respectively), as well as clinical isolates of N. gonorrhoeae (MICs = 1.9-15.6 µg/ml)
