DNA from urine: Quick-DNA

The Quick-DNA™ Urine kit from Zymo Research allows for easy, reliable and rapid isolation of cellular and/or cell-free DNA from up to 40ml of urine. This product features a uniquely formulated urine DNA stabilisation reagent that also functions as a precipitation reagent. After collection, total (cellular and cell-free) or cell-free urine can be stored at ambient temperature for up to one month by adding the Urine Conditioning Buffer.

Streamlined workflow

When​​​​​​ ready to extract the urine DNA, add the Clearing Beads, vortex, and centrifuge to collect the precipitate. Following precipitation, chemical lysis and enzymatic digestion are used to extract DNA from the precipitate. The DNA is subsequently purified and concentrated using Zymo-Spin IC-S Columns. Urine DNA isolated with the Quick-DNA Urine Kit is ideal for qPCR, array, methylation analysis, and other downstream applications.

Superior preservation

Urine Conditioning BUffer (UCB) preserves nucleic acid better than conventional methods. Urine (with or without UCB) were preserved using diferent storage conditions. Room Temperature (RT), -20°C and -80°C. After 2 weeks of storage, toral DNA (yellow) and total RNA (green) were purified using the Quick-DNA Urine kit and a custom RNA extraction protocol by Zymo Research respectively. Corresponding fold change of preserved nucleic acid obtained from qPCR analysis.
