DNA from fungi/bacteria: Quick-DNA

The Quick-DNA™ Fungal/Bacterial kits are designed for the simple and rapid isolation of DNA from tough-to-lyse fungi, including A. fumigatus, C. albicans, N. crassa, S. cerevisiae, S. pombe, as well as Gram (+/-) bacteria, algae, and protozoa. 

With a simple workflow, fungal DNA can be extracted within minutes. Fungal and/or bacterial samples are rapidly and efficiently lysed with state of the art, ultra-high density BashingBeads. Using Zymo-Spin column technology, isolated DNA is ideal for downstream molecular-based applications including PCR, array, etc.

Higher yields of total DNA isolated from environmental samples using Quick-DNA kits

High-quality total DNA was isolated from environmental sample sources using the Quick-DNA Fungal/Bactial kit and compared against another supplier. Equivalent amounts of sample input were processed using each kit, then equal amounts of the eluted DNA was analysed on a 0.8% (w/v) agarose gel stained with EtBr. The Quick-DNA Fungal/Bacterial kit recovers high quality total DNA with greater yields compared to Supplier A .
