ZenBio offers a range of frozen human cord blood cells, from haematopoietic stem/progenitor cells (e.g. CD34+) to Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells (HUVEC).
Cord blood CD34+ progenitor cells are in a phenotypically undifferentiated state. HUVECs are individually processed (or pooled for mixed products) to isolate endothelial cells through collagenase digestion and culture. Frozen HUVEC products are cryopreserved at the end of the primary culture.

Cord blood cell pathogen testing
All cryopreserved cord blood cells are tested negative for HIV-1, HIV-2, HTLV I, HTLV II, Syphilis, CMV, HBV and HCV via PCR. However, no known test can offer complete assurance that the cells are pathogen free. Products are tested and are free from mycoplasma contamination. Proper precautions and biological containment should be taken when handling cells of human origin, due to their potential biohazardous nature. All human based products should be handled at a BSL-2 (Biosafety Level 2) or higher.
To prevent clumping and to maximise viability upon thawing, we strongly suggest the use of our Lymphocyte Medium (LYMPH1, LYMPH-1-50) to thaw these cells, especially if you are using a homemade formulation and not achieving success. For HUVEC, ZenBio guarantees cells to reach 15 population doublings when cultured with the Endothelial Growth Medium (ECGM-1).
