BAC cloning competent cells

We offer a range of electrocompetent cells from Lucigen ideal for BAC cloning applications.

  Efficiency Applications
BigEasy® TSA™ electrocompetent cells

> 2 × 1010 cfu/µg pKanR DNA

For use with Lucigen’s pJAZZ®-OC or OK linear vectors in the BigEasy v2.0 linear cloning system.

Containing the telN gene required for high efficiency transformation and the antA gene required for copy number control with the pJAZZ vector integrated into the host genome, these cells offer high yields and high-quality plasmid DNA.

BAC-Optimised Replicator™ v2.0 Electrocompetent Cells

> 1 × 1010 cfu/µg pKanR DNA

Required for on-demand, copy number amplification of the pSMART® BAC or pEZ™ BAC vectors in the CopyRight® Kits, thereby increasing DNA yields.

E. cloni® 10G BAC-Optimised Electrocompetent Cells

> 1 × 107 cfu/µg 150 kb BAC DNA; > 1 × 1010 cfu/µg pUC DNA

For large DNA cloning.

Manufactured using a novel procedure that maximises transformation efficiencies with very large inserts, 10G BAC-Optimized Cells are an excellent choice for BAC library construction and large construct transformation.
