Erythropoietin, EPO, also known as hematopoietin or hemopoietin, is a glycoprotein hormone that controls erythropoiesis, or red blood cell production. It is a cytokine for erythrocyte (red blood cell) precursors in the bone marrow. Its gene is mapped to 7q22. It is said that the EPO gene encodes a deduced 193-amino acid propolypeptide. This hormone can be found in kidney and liver. It is the hormone that regulates red blood cell production. And it plays an important role in the brain's response to neuronal injury. What's more, EPO is also involved in the wound healing process. Useful in Sandwich ELISA for Quantitative Detection of Antigen. Aliquot 0.1ml per well of the 3000pg/ml, 1500pg/ml, 750pg/ml,,419.pg/ml, 187.5pg/ml, 93.8pg/ml, 46.9pg/ml mouse EPO standard solutions into the precoated 96-well plate. Add 0.1ml of the sample diluent buffer into the control well (Zero well) . Add 0.1ml of each properly diluted sample of mouse cell culture supernatants, serum, plasma (heparin) or tissue lysates to each empty well. We recommend that each mouse EPO standard solution and each sample is measured in duplicate.
