Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to MAVS/VISA immobilized on solid support. The epitope recognized by A300-783A maps to a region between residue 250 and 300 of human Mitochondrial Anti-Viral Signaling Protein (Virus-Induced Signaling Adapter) using the numbering given in entry AAH44952.1 (GeneID 57506). Immunoglobulin concentration was determined by extinction coefficient: absorbance at 280 nm of 1.4 equals 1.0 mg of IgG.

Detection of human MAVS(VISA) by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-MAVS(VISA) antibody BL3173 (Cat. No. A300-783A) used for IP at 3 µg/mg lysate. MAVS(VISA) was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-MAVS(VISA) antibody BL3172 (Cat. No. A300-782A). For blotting immunoprecipitated MAVS(VISA), BL3172 was used at 1 µg/mg lysate. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.
