ZymoBIOMICS Microbial Community Standard

The ZymoBIOMICS® Microbial Community Standard from Zymo Research is designed to assess bias and errors in the extraction methods of a microbiomics workflow. Acting as a defined input from the beginning, the Microbial Community Standard can guide construction and optimisation of entire workflows and can also be used as a routine quality control.

Also available is the Microbial Community DNA Standard which is designed to assess bias, errors and other artefacts after nucleic acid purification. Consisting of pooled DNA extracted from pure cultures, this DNA standard is designed to have the same microbial composition as the cellular standard, meaning they  can be used in tandem.

• Negligible impurity: guaranteed to contain < 0.01% foreign microbial DNA 
• Wide range of GC content: 15%-85%, for assessing bias caused by GC content variation
