An isocoumarin with diverse biological activities; inhibits increases in TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β levels induced by LPS, Pam3CSK4, or FSL-1 but not poly(I:C) or ODN1668 in primary mouse macrophages at 100 µM; reduces HIV-1 p24 antigen levels in the culture supernatant of human PBMCs infected with HIV-1 at 1-10 µM; induces apoptosis, cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase, and production of ROS in SH-SY5Y cells at 10 µM; protects mice from lethal endotoxin shock at 3 and 9 mg/kg
