A flavonoid with diverse biological activities; inhibits the activity of rat lens aldose reductase (IC50 = 3.8 µM); active against L. donovani amastigotes and T. brucei rhodesiense, but not T. cruzi, trypomastigotes (IC50s = 11.1, 6.9, and >30 µg/ml, respectively); scavenges DPPH radicals at 15 µM
