Product Description:
The research-grade biosimilar is a recombinant, fully human IgG2 kappa monoclonal antibody that binds with a high affinity to the Interleukin-17 receptor α (IL-17Rα). IL-17R is a type I membrane glycoprotein that is ubiquitously expressed on cell surfaces and binds IL17α with low affinity. IL17α plays an important role in the pathogenesis of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. The antibody binds to the IL-17Rα and inhibits IL-17 induced release of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines such as NF-κB, IL-6, IL-8, COX-2, MMPs, and GM-CSF. The original drug received approval from the FDA to treat moderate-to-severe psoriasis
