Antibody was affinity purified using an epitope specific to AMPK alpha 2 immobilized on solid support. The epitope recognized by A300-508A maps to a region between residues 350 and 400 of human 5'-AMP-activated Protein Kinase, catalytic Alpha-2 chain using the numbering given in entry AAH69823.1 (GeneID 5563). Immunoglobulin concentration was determined by extinction coefficient: absorbance at 280 nm of 1.4 equals 1.0 mg of IgG.

Detection of human and mouse AMPK alpha 2 by western blot. Samples: Whole cell lysate (50 µg) from HeLa, HEK293T, Jurkat, mouse Renca, and mouse TCMK-1 cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-AMPK alpha 2 antibody A300-508A (lot A300-508A-2) used for WB at 0.4 µg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 minutes.
