Charybdotoxin (ChTX) is a Ca2+-activated K+ channel blocker. It depolarises peripheral T lymphocytes and blocks their mitogen-induced proliferation. ChTX is a highly basic peptide isolated from venom of the scorpion, Leiurus quinquestriatus hebraeus.
