SIN-1 is a metabolite of molsidomine that spontaneously releases nitric oxide (NO) and superoxide anion which react to form peroxynitrite under physiological conditions. Acts as a potent vasorelaxant, inhibits platelet aggregation and toxicity of amyloid-β in cellular assays.
