Hyperpolarisation-gated channels

Cambridge Bioscience, through our collaboration with B’SYS, offers access to screening services for the following hyperpolarization-gated channel targets:

Gene Name: HCN1
Description: human HCN1 is a hyperpolarization-gated ion channel expressed mostly in the CNS, heart and retinal photoreceptors. HCN channels are thought to play a significant role in heart rate control, with HCN1 loss is linked to prolonged activation of photosensitive rods.

Gene Name: HCN4
Description: the human HCN4 gene encodes the pore-forming subunit of a hyperpolarization-activated, cyclic nucleotide-modulated cation channel. HCN4 channels are the predominant HCN isoform in the sinoatrial node and contribute to pacemaker current that controls rhythmic activity in the heart and brain. The HCN4 therapeutic potential includes treatment of cardiac arrhythmia and ischemic heart disease.
