Sensitive HIF-1α Transcription Factor Assay Kit

Cambridge Bioscience offers a sensitive, non-radioactive method for detecting HIF-1α from whole cell lysates and nuclear extracts. Replacing cumbersome radioactive electrophoretic mobility shift assays (EMSAs), the ELISA-based HIF-1α transcription factor assay kit detects HIF-1α DNA binding activity in human, murine and rat samples.

HIF-1α Transcription Factor Assay Kit Technology
A specific dsDNA sequence containing the HIF-1α response element (5’-ACGTG-3’) is immobilised to the wells of the 96-well plate. HIF-1α from nuclear extracts binds specifically to this response element and the HIF transcription factor complex is detected by addition of a specific primary antibody directed against HIF-1α. A secondary antibody conjugated to HRP is added to provide the colourimetric readout at 450 nm.
