Supplier information: AstraNet Systems

AstraNet Systems Ltd is a specialist supplier of spectrophotometers with many years experience in solving difficult analytical applications using their fibre-optic-coupled, CCD Array spectrophotometers. Their spectrophotometers have been proven in some of the toughest laboratory, industrial or process control environments. The AstraGene UV/Visible System brings all the advantages of this fibre-optic-coupled photo-diode-array (FOC PDA) technology to the life science arena.
The AstraGene UV/Visible fibre-optic-coupled, CCD Array Spectrophotometer brings you unrivalled convenience, speed, accuracy, sample protection and recovery in the analysis of life science micro-volume samples. Allowing you to analyse as little as 2ul of DNA, RNA, protein or cell culture samples, right there in the pipette tip using AstraGene’s patented sample holder.

•    Simple  - Through-the-Tip measurement for Pick-Up and Go analysis
•    Fast - Complete a full scan of your sample in less than 2 seconds with results displayed instantly
•    Convenient – No restricting sample chambers or clean up between samples
•    Micro-volume analysis – Analyse as little as 2ul of sample
•    Easy sample recovery - Simply dispense back out of the pipette tip

AstraGene System
The AstraGene's micro-volume sample accessory is connected to the spectrophotometer by two fibre-optic cables. One delivers the light from the xenon lamp to the sample, which remains in the pipette tip. The other one collects the transmitted wavelengths on the opposite side of the tip and passes them to the spectrophotometer for measurement.

This simple system makes your work-flow as easy as just taking up the 2µl sample with the pipette, placing the pipette and tip in the holder and selecting the ‘measure’ option. The sample can then be recovered, with no risk of contamination, for further processing or other analysis.
