MONOSAN is a brand name of Sanbio b.v. in the Netherlands. The MONOSAN product line was established in the late seventies and introduced during that period, the first Anti Rat T-cell monoclonal antibodies.

The range rapidly expanded and currently comprises of a wide range of over 2.500 products. In 2002 they added the MONOSAN Xtra range of IHC and IF antibodies. The MONOSAN monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies are being developed and commercialized either in their own laboratories or in collaboration with some of the worldwide leading universities and research institutes.

To eliminate the variability of immunostaining and reduce histopathology workflow, Monosan have designed a prediluted antibody line "Monosan Ready-To-Use".

This ready to use line contains more than 200 new antibody products for IHC (immunohistochemistry) for use on frozen and FFPE tissue sections.

The 7 ml and 15 ml monoclonals (rabbit and mouse) and polyclonals are applicable for fully automated IHC systems and manual use.

In the field of diagnostic medicine, antibodies against cytokeratins are instrumental in the distinction of epithelial malignancies from sarcomas and lymphomas of various types.

Cytokeratin subtype expression patterns are now also being used in the distinction of different types of epithelial malignancies. Cytokeratin antibodies are of assistance in the differential diagnosis of tumours using immunohistochemistry on tissue sections, and increasingly in cytopathology and flow cytometric assays.
