Cell Biolabs OxiSelectTM Protein Carbonyl Assay Kits
The most common products of protein oxidation in biological samples are the carbonyl derivatives of Pro, Arg, Lys and Thr residues. Such derivatives are chemically stable and serve as markers for oxidative stress in most types of reactive oxygen species.

Cell Biolabs’ OxiSelect™ Protein Carbonyl Assay Kits provide rapid, efficient methods for detection of protein carbonyls. Three assay formats are available: immunoblot, ELISA or spectrophotometer. All formats are suitable for use with purified protein, plasma, serum, or cell lysate samples.

Protein Carbonyl ELISA Kit
• Sensitive: Detects samples as low as 10 μg/ml
• Greater Sample Retention: No concentration/TCA precipitation steps

Protein Carbonyl Immunoblot Kit
• No Molecular Weight Shift: DNPH Derivatization after immunoblotting allows direct comparison of oxidized and non-oxidized protein fingerprint

Purification of viruses via cesium chloride ultracentrifugation procedures can be tedious and time-consuming. ViraBind™ Lentivirus Purification Kits provide a much more efficient system for fast lentiviral purification with high yields. We offer three formats:

  • ViraBind™ Concentration & Purification Kits provide a fast method to concentrate your virus and purify with better results in less time than ultracentrifugation; the protocol uses a purification column and concentrator
  • ViraBind™ PLUS Concentration & Purification Kits provide similar benefits to the kits above, but with fewer hands-on steps; the protocol uses a dialysis apparatus and concentrator
  • ViraBind™ Purification Kits use a filter-based method to purify your lentivirus; kits are available in two sizes

Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS) can be generated from various somatic cells by the retrovirus mediated transfection of four transcription factors, namely Oct3/4, Sox2, c-Myc, and Klf4. iPS cells are indistinguishable from ES cells in morphology, proliferation, gene expression and teratoma formation.

Cell BioLabs' iPS retroviral vectors are constructed from the pMXs vector backbone used in the Yamanaka* study. Vectors are available individually or in sets for both human and mouse.

Cytoselect Migration, Invasion and Adhesion assays allow you to investigate cell behaviour in a convenient microtitre plate format.

Cytoselect Invasion/Migration assays. Utilise basement membrane coated inserts. No cell pre-labelling or manual counting. Colorimetric or fluorimetric detection available. A range of pore sizes are available to suit your cell type.

Cytoselect Adhesion Assays : Fibronectin, collagen laminin or fibrinogen based assays

The comet assay is a well-published method for measuring cellular DNA damage.

Cell Biolab's new OxiSelect™ Comet Assay Kits provide a fast, convenient way to screen for general DNA damage, regardless of the source or nature of the damage.

  • Useful screening tool for various types of DNA damage
  • Slides are specially treated for adhesion of low-melting agarose
  • Easy visualization by epifluorescence microscopy

Cell Biolabs CytoSelect™ Wound Healing Assay Kit includes proprietary “wound field” inserts to assay the migratory and wound healing characteristics of cells.

  • More consistent results well-to-well compared to homemade scratch assays
  • measure cell migration, cell proliferation and wound closure
  • Inert inserts leave no residues that could impede proliferation or migration of cells

Cell Biolabs’ Oxidative DNA Damage ELISA Kit is a competitive enzyme immunoassay developed for rapid quantitation of 8-OHdG in urine, serum, or other cell or tissue DNA samples.

The quantity of 8-OHdG in unknown samples is determined by comparing its absorbance with that of a known 8-OHdG standard curve.

  • Detect as little as 100 pg/mL
  • Suitable for use with urine, serum, cells or tissues
  • 8-OHdG standard included for absolute quantitation

Cytoselect Phagocytosis Assays are a more accurate, user-friendly, high-throughput alternative to standard manual counting assays. The assays may be adapted for use in 48-well and 24-well plates if required.

Apoptosis resulting from the loss of adhesion to the ECM is known as anoikis. Anoikis is involved in the physiological processes of tissue renewal and cell homeostasis.

Cell Biolab's CytoSelect 24-Well Anoikis Assay allows you to quantify and monitor anoikis in cells using a 24-well Poly-HEMA precoated plate. Live cells can be viewed under a microscope and quantified on a plate reader by MTT (colorimetric) or Calcein AM (fluorometric); both reagents are included in the kit. Dead cells are detected with the red EthD-1 reagent, also included.

    • Detect live and dead cells by microscopy, fluorescence, or flow cytometry
    • Quantify live cells on a standard microplate reader or fluorometer
    • Poly-HEMA coated plate included
