Protein Labelling & Detection

Protein labelling is performed using many different methods and can be used for in-vivo, in-situ, in-vitro and ex-vivo sample analysis. Fluorescent labels are generally used for detection of a protein or other labelled molecule via a fluorescence microscope, flow cytometer or fluorescence plate reader.

In addition to fluorophore labelling, heavy isotope labelling and biotin labelling are other examples. New tools in fluorescence detection also provide the ability to detect protein-protein interactions in-situ.
