GPCR Screening & Profiling
Identification of a compound’s target specificity and potential for off-target effects is a critical step in the drug discovery process. This process often includes assessments against specific target class families or critical safety targets.
Cambridge Bioscience, through our collaboration with ChanTest, offers customers throughout Europe access to a comprehensive range of GPCR screening and profiling services on both the FLIPRTETRA® and FlexStation® 3 . This service portfolio includes access to over 125 GPCR targets, and includes receptors from all major GPCR classes. Each assay has been designed to provide high quality screening and profiling data for drug discovery and safety assessments.
These platforms and targets are complimented by knowledgeable and experienced Study Directors and scientists with;
• Over 10 years expertise in ion channel or GPCR research
• Experience in primary screening and drug profiling environments
• A solution oriented ethic towards clients needs

Services Offered
The following services are offered:
GPCR Screening
GPCR cell-based screening is performed with calcium-sensitive or membrane-potential-sensitive dyes. Gs- and Gi-coupled GPCRs are assayed via cAMP determinations using either a cell-based real time cAMP assay or other validated cAMP assay platform. EC50 / IC50 determinations on confirmed actives are offered as a follow-up option. All screens include positive controls and a comprehensive report.
GPCR Profiling
Compound profiling is offered against multiple receptors to determine specificity or off-target activity.
Mode of Action Studies
Mode of action studies are offered for the full characterization of orthostatic and allosteric ligands.
GPCR Functional Selectivity
The measurement of GPCR functional selectivity and differentiation from assay format artefacts is offered.
ChanTest Compound Library
Cambridge Bioscience offers access to ChanTest's diverse, custom-made compound library consisting of 12,600 compounds (40 384-well plates). Library screening includes a EC50 / IC50 follow-up of confirmed actives identified in the screen.
