EpiSonic Bioprocessor
Cambridge Bioscience offers the EpiSonic™ Multi-Functional Bioprocessor 1100 from Epigentek. The EpiSonic™ 1100 is a high throughput capable sonication instrument that has been proven to shear samples in a precise, consistent & reproducible manner.
The next generation sonication EpiSonic™
1100 is an upgrade from the previous EpiSonic™ 1000 model producing DNA ideal for high throughput genome sequencing and next generation chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP). Incorporating the digitally adaptive sonocavitation™ (DAS) technology, this completely digital instrument was specifically designed for the efficient shearing of DNA and chromatin samples enabling rapid, simultaneous processing, simple operation and easy integration into existing lab workflows.

Benefits of Using the EpiSonic™ 1100
• Extremely simple operation
Has programmable digital processing and touch screen control
• Fully controllable
Controlled output amplitude 1% at a time from 1-100% to allow identification of the optimal amount of energy required
• Reduced sample contamination risk
The non probe based sonication method used by this device reduces contamination risk
• Reduced sample loss
The closed vessel processing and non-contact sonication used by this device in sealed tubes/wells prevents sample loss
• Thermal degradation prevention & sample integrity maintenance
The isothermal environment generated by the included cooling system automatically recirculates chilled water within the system to maintain sample integrity & prevent thermal degradation
• Highly focused sonication
The shallow waterbath and small amount of liquid medium allows for faster and more highly focused sonication on samples
• Long-term affordability
Compatibility Benefits of the EpiSonic™ 1100
• High throughput format
Multiple samples can be simultaneously processed with standard 0.2ml PCR tubes or 96-well PCR plates
• Fast
96 DNA samples can be sheared to 100-500 bp (average 300 bp) fragments in 10-20 minutes
• Compatible with standard plastic laboratory containers
Compatible with PCR tubes and semi-skirted PCR plates enabling the standardized transfer of protocols between laboratories
• Compatible with high throughput workflows
Compatible with high-throughput ChIP and parallel sequencing workflows
• Scalable
The simple, removable & interchangeable vessel rack allows for the expansion to different vessel sizes
Recording Benefits of the EpiSonic™ 1100
• Real-time energy monitoring
System enables live screen output of amplitude, wattage & joule readings
• Real-time temperature monitoring
System enables live screen output of temperature in sample reservoir utilising a temperature probe required
