Oxidative DNA Damage
Oxidative DNA damage can result from ROS produced during normal metabolic processes inside the cell. The nucleotide guanosine is particularly susceptible to damage, leading to the generation of 8-OH-dG. Repair of the DNA in-turn generates 8-OH-G. Both of these are accepted markers for oxidative DNA damage.
Cambridge Bioscience is able to supply detection kits and other reagents in this developing area of research.
