CF™ Dye Range
Cambridge Bioscience offers the CF™ dye range comprising 20 fluorophores that span the EM spectrum from UV to near IR from Biotium.
The CF™ dyes rival or exceed the brightness of other commercially available dyes and are highly pH insensitive whilst boasting amongst the highest photostability available. The dyes are particularly useful as antibody conjugates because they are less highly charged than many other available dyes ensuring they have a reduced impact upon the protein isoelectric point which is known to affect target specificity.
Benefits of Using CF™ Dyes
• Superior Brightness & Photostability
Rhodamine is known for its excellent photostability and brightness. Consequently many commercially available synthetic dyes use rhodamine as a base. Traditionally it has been impossible to modify rhodamine for use in the far-red and near-IR spectrum. However Biotium has overcome this challenge to develop rhodamine-based dyes in this spectral region boasting improved brightness and photostability.
• Suitable for In vivo Imaging
The near IR region is particularly suited for in vivo imaging due to its superior ability to penetrate tissue. CF™ dyes are amongst the best for in vivo imaging as many have a higher half-life in blood circulation than some competitor dyes. They also display high pH insensitivity allowing them to tolerate acidic and alkaline conditions, which in conjunction with their superior brightness and photostability makes them ideal for in vivo fluorescence imaging.
• High Specificity
Many of the CF™ dyes are less highly charged than many other commercially available synthetic dyes such as Alexa Fluors®. As a consequence in bioconjugates they have a reduced impact on the protein isoelectric point. This makes them ideal as antibody conjugates as they interfere less with target affinity and specificity.
