Advanced Glycation End Products
Advanced glycation end products (AGEs) adversely affect the functional properties of proteins, lipids and DNA and levels have been shown to increase with age. Several AGE structures have been reported including Nε-(carboxymethyl) lysine (CML), Nε-(carboxyethyl) lysine (CEL), pentosidine and Methylglyoxal (MG) derivatives. AGE modification of proteins can contribute to the pathophysiology of aging and long-term complications of diabetes, atherosclerosis and renal failure.
Cambridge Bioscience offers a range of advanced glycation end product (AGE) research products. Included in the range is a selection of antibodies & ELISAs for the detection of AGE, CEL, & MG.
