Acute Phase Protein ELISAs
Acute-phase proteins are a class of proteins whose plasma concentrations vary in response to inflammation. The functions of acute-phase proteins are largely unresolved, but roles such as regulation of inflammatory processes & opsonisation of foreign materials have been postulated. Elevation of certain acute-phase proteins has been linked to a variety of disease states including atherosclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis & sepsis.
Cambridge Bioscience provides a range of competitively priced ELISA kits for quantifying these proteins including C-reactive protein, complement factors, pentraxin 3, serum amyloid A and serum amyloid P component.
