Rapid, Sensitive & Reliable Cysteinyl Leukotriene Quantification
Leukotrienes (LTs) are acute inflammatory mediators derived from arachidonic acid via the 5-lipoxygenase pathway. LTC4, LTD4, and LTE4 are collectively referred to as the cysteinyl leukotrienes (CysLTs). The quantification of cysteinyl leukotriene can be difficult with some kits requiring large sample volumes and having long experiment times.
Cambridge Bioscience offers the sensitive cysteinyl leukotriene express EIA kit from Cayman Chemical for the quantification of all three primary cysteinyl leukotrienes. Using a proprietary high-affinity monoclonal antibody from Cayman Chemical, this kit offers exceptionally high sensitivity (80 pg/ml) for the quantification of cysteinyl leukotriene in urine, culture media & other sample matrices
Benefits of Using the Cayman Cysteinyl Leukotriene Express EIA Kit
The Cayman cysteinyl leukotriene express EIA kit offers numerous advantages over other cysteinyl leukotriene detection methods:
• Sensitive - 80 pg/ml (50% B/B0)
• Excellent detection limit - 20 pg/ml (80% B/B0)
• Fast - 3 hours to complete
• Wide sample compatibility - urine, culture media & other sample matrices
• Small sample volume required - 50ul
• Flexible format - 96 & 480 solid & strip well
• Uses the AChE technology
• Convenient - requires no 'stop' reagent so can be read when appropriate
• Re-development feature - AChE does not self-inactivate during turnover enabling re-development if splashed or spilled
• Highly stable tracer with wide pH range

Assay Technology
The cysteinyl leukotriene express EIA uses an exclusive patented acetyl cholinesterase tracer. This EIA is based on the competition between CysLTs and a CysLt-acetylcholinesterase (AChE) conjugate (CysLT Tracer) for a limited amount of CysLT EIA monoclonal antibody. AChE offers several advantages over other commonly used enzymes for enzyme immunoassays. AChE has a wide pH range, is highly stable, requiring no 'stop' reagent enabling the plate to be read when convenient and does not self-inactivate during turnover, unlike horseradish peroxidase, enabling the re-development of the assay if it is accidently splashed or spilled.
