Neuronal class III β-tubulin (TUJ1) is a protein associated with microtubule stability, expressed almost exclusively by neurons following early differentiation in the CNS and PNS. Due to this expression pattern TUJ1 expression has become the gold standard method for identifying neural progenitors and differentiation.
