Apolipoprotein CIII (ApoCIII) is one of the exchangeable apolipoproteins. ApoCIII is composed of 79 amino acids and is synthesized by the liver and intestine. ApoCIII inhibits the hydrolysis of TG-rich particles by the lipoprotein lipase and their hepatic uptake mediated by ApoE.
