Lentiviral 3'UTR Clones
MicroRNAs (miRNA) regulate gene expression through interaction with the 3’ untranslated region (UTR) of a gene. Reporter vectors provide a simple convenient and reproducible method to monitor this interaction via the expression of quantifiable reporters such as luciferase.
Cambridge Bioscience offers a unique lentiviral based reporter system from System Biosciences featuring a dual reporter assay employing both a firefly luciferase (Fire) and a cytotoxic sensor (Ctx). The miR-Selection System captures the 3’UTR to a microRNA binding event using a survival screen by modulating the reduction of the cytotoxicsensor. Quantitative validation is made simple using the built-in luciferase reporter. Interaction of miRNA and 3’ UTR results in down regulation of both luciferase and the cytotoxic sensor leading to cell survival and reduced luciferase expression.
